BAe Hawk T.1
Um die in die Jahre gekommene Folland Gnat als Trainer abzulösen, beauftragte die Royal Air Force die Konzeption eines neuen Flugzeugs. 1968 begann Hawker-Siddeley (heute BAE SYSTEMS) daher mit der Entwicklung eines simplen, zweisitzigen Kampfflugzeuges. Der Erstflug des Prototypen erfolgte 1974, zwei Jahre später wurden die ersten Maschinen bei der Royal Air Force in Dienst gestellt.
