Supermarine Spitfire
Die Supermarine Spitfire ist wohl eines der bekanntesten Jagdflugzeuge des 2. Weltkriegs. In der Zeit von 1938 bis 1948 wurden fast 23.000 Stück gebaut und von über 20 Länder eingesetzt. Die Spitfire kam als Abfangjäger, Jagdbomber, Aufklärer und als Seafire auch auf Flugzeugträgern zum Einsatz. Letzte Maschinen wurden 1954 ausgemustert.
